Prepared for Tragedy

Tragedies always seem to happen at the end or beginning of each year.  This might be due to bad weather, the rush of ending one year and another beginning, or to the holidays.  However, a tragedy can happen to anyone at any time; and there is never a good time for a disaster/accident to happen.  They just do!!!!!

The question is this; how prepared are we when tragedy strikes and how do we deal with it?  The top 4 reasons for death in young adults in the United States are (Sequentially) Accidents, Suicide, Homicide, Drugs and Alcohol.   These are tragedies, yes, but also some are unavoidable.

41% of deaths in young adults are caused by automobile accidents.  As careful as many may be; there are still risks if people drive and/or are passengers in a vehicle.  Therefore, the young, twenty-something, who is starting to build credit and get their life on track, may be the highest population at risk; yet the ones who may tell you, “Oh, I’m too young to die”.  How do you respond to this?

Yes, focusing on presenting disability is important, especially if they are single and have just the one income; however, don’t discount the need for Life coverage. Someone will be handling the personal effect of this individual. These loved ones should not be burdened more than is necessary with the loss of a loved one.

Take a minute and help this young investor get on the right track for financial independence.  Protecting themselves, their loan, and their credit is a vital part of any good financial plan.  You don’t have to be mature in years to understand the value of Payment Protection.  Young adults need this valuable coverage as well.
